The H&N Slug HP Heavy extends the weight range in .25 calibre (6.35 mm) and is built specifically for long-range hunting and target shooting with high-power PCP air rifles. Each 40-grain slug is swaged from soft lead and features a hollow point with a large meplat — the wide, flat nose cavity initiates reliable expansion on impact, maximising energy transfer for a quick and humane kill. At .249" head diameter these slugs are intended for use in slug-optimised barrels; H&N recommends a minimum muzzle energy of around 40 joules, with the sweet spot between 40 and 60 joules, to stabilise the projectile and deliver consistent downrange accuracy. The design was developed and tested in close collaboration with Air Hunter Gerhard, a recognised authority in airgun hunting and field competition. Each tin contains 100 slugs, making it a practical choice for both field sessions and range testing across varied power settings.
