The H&N Slug HP Heavy in .249 head size (.25 calibre / 6.35mm) extends the weight range for .25 PCP hunters who need a heavier, harder-hitting projectile for long-range work. Unlike traditional diabolo pellets, these are bullet-shaped lead slugs designed to be fired from high-power PCP air rifles — the slug form delivers improved ballistic performance and energy retention at extended distances. The defining feature is a hollow-point cavity with a large meplat formed from soft lead; on impact, the nose expands rapidly, maximising energy transfer for a quick and humane kill on small to medium quarry. Each slug is precision-formed for consistent dimensions and weight, helping produce tight groups out to 100 metres and beyond. The Heavy Slug was developed in close collaboration with Air Hunter Gerhard, a recognised expert in airgun hunting and field shooting. Supplied in a tin of 100. Calibre: .25 (6.35mm). Head size: .249 inches. Weight: 44.0 grains.
