The Titan XS Mainspring No.8 is a replacement mainspring for spring-piston air rifles, made by John Knibbs International. Titan winds each spring from Grade 1 Swedish silicon chrome vanadium steel and heat-treats it for consistent power and long service life, making it a sound choice when an original spring has tired, taken a set or gone twangy. The No.8 is the fitment number for a defined group of rifles: on the Titan application chart it covers the Webley Vulcan, Omega, Longbow and Tomahawk, the Weihrauch HW95 and HW98, and the Gamo 3000 and Swarm. Always match by the Titan number for your rifle rather than by eye, as outer diameter, wire thickness and length differ between sizes. Fitting a mainspring means stripping the action and working with a compressed spring under considerable preload, so unless you are confident with a spring compressor and air rifle servicing, have a gunsmith carry out the swap. Pairs well with fresh piston seals, a new top hat and a smear of moly grease for a full tune.
