The BSA VC Variable Choke Silencer is a muzzle-mounted sound moderator designed to reduce report from air rifles fitted with a standard ½" UNF threaded barrel. Constructed from anodised aluminium with a satin black finish, it is lightweight at 118 g and 200 mm in length, adding minimal bulk to the muzzle without upsetting rifle balance. What sets the VC apart is its interchangeable muzzle restrictor system: the unit ships with two restrictors — a black one for .177 (4.5 mm) calibre and a white one for .22 (5.5 mm) calibre — allowing the internal aperture to be matched precisely to the pellet being fired. Swapping restrictors takes moments using the supplied Allen key. The universal ½" UNF fitting means it is compatible with the majority of air rifles on the market, not just BSA models. Reduced report is a genuine advantage for pest control and general fieldwork where noise discipline matters. In England, Wales and Scotland, air rifle moderators do not require a Firearms Certificate entry, making this a straightforward addition to any rimless-barrel rifle.
