The Crosman Inferno is a compact break-barrel air rifle built specifically for junior and beginner shooters. It's noticeably lighter and shorter than an adult-sized springer - 1029mm long and just 1.98kg - with a skeleton-style black synthetic stock that keeps handling easy for smaller hands and frames. Fibre-optic open sights come fitted as standard, so it's ready to shoot straight out of the box with no scope required, though none is included if you did want to add one later. Like any break-barrel, it's a single-shot design: break the barrel to cock the action and load one .177 pellet at a time. Power is modest by design, developing around 7 ft lb - well inside the UK's 12 ft lb legal limit for an unlicensed air rifle - which keeps recoil and report low and makes it forgiving for a new shooter to learn on. That combination of light weight, low power and simple open sights makes the Inferno well suited to supervised garden plinking and pest control in enclosed spaces, and a sensible stepping stone before moving up to a full-power adult air rifle.
