Nosler's Ballistic Tip Hunting bullet is a component projectile for handloaders, supplied here as a box of 50 in .270 calibre (6.8mm, .277in diameter) at 140 grains. It is not loaded ammunition. The bullet uses a spitzer boat-tail profile with a polycarbonate tip that resists deformation in the magazine and initiates rapid, controlled expansion on impact, sitting over a uniform pure lead core that resists air-pocket imbalance. A heavy jacket base holds the bullet together at extreme velocities and limits deformation during firing, giving consistent terminal performance across the practical range of .270 cartridges. Nosler rates this bullet with a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.456 and a sectional density of 0.261, with an overall length of 1.296in. It has no cannelure and an uncoated jacket.
