The Caldwell Lead Sled DFT 2 uses Dual Frame Technology to fit almost any rifle or shotgun while cutting felt recoil to a fraction of what it would be off a bipod or bag. The front cradle slides back and forth along the dual frame, giving 18in of adjustment so the rest suits everything from a compact carbine to a long-barrelled magnum rifle. Elevation is handled by an oversized wheel running on smooth ball bearings, giving up to 16.5in of fingertip-precise height adjustment with none of the wobble you get from cheaper rests. Loaded with lead shot in the weight tray, the DFT 2 disperses recoil energy through its dual-frame design rather than passing it back to the shooter, making magnum calibres genuinely manageable during load development or a long session of zeroing. The rest itself weighs approximately 24lb and measures 30in long by 12in wide, and its weight tray holds up to 100lb of lead shot for serious stability on the bench.
