The Caldwell Matrix is a versatile, affordable shooting rest built around an ultra-rigid U-channel frame that adjusts in length to suit almost any firearm. Its two-piece sliding design leaves an open central channel with plenty of clearance for high-capacity detachable magazines and lever-action rifles, so nothing fouls the rest as you settle in behind it. A spring-loaded tension mechanism paired with a height adjustment knob allows fast, one-handed elevation changes, keeping the front cradle steady and wobble-free through its full vertical range. Front and rear supports are over-moulded to protect a firearm's finish while staying firm enough to hold the gun without any play. A storage compartment built into the front of the base has a removable lid that, when left in place, doubles as a rubberised rear support for handgun shooting, and when removed adds extra clearance for larger magazines. For more compact use, the rear portion of the frame can simply be lifted away, turning the Matrix into a dedicated front rest. Whether set up full-length or as a front rest alone, it delivers genuinely stable support for zeroing and precision shooting.
