The Cluson Smartlite Ecology Lamp 12V 8.8Ah Li-ion is a UK-manufactured rechargeable spotlight built for long-range work after dark, from ecological survey and wildlife monitoring to general estate and farm use. It delivers 1 million candle power from a xenon bulb with a beam distance of up to 1000m, and runs on a rechargeable 12V 8.8Ah lithium-ion battery with high and low settings — roughly 2.25 hours of runtime on high or 5 hours on low, recharging in around 5 hours from the supplied mains charger. Swapping SLA for Li-ion cuts the weight substantially: this lamp weighs 1.4kg complete against 2.46kg for the equivalent 7Ah SLA model, while also charging faster and running longer on the low setting. It's housed in the same durable, high-impact plastic case as the rest of the Smartlite Ecology range, with a strong carrying handle, and measures 26cm by 12.5cm. The 8.8Ah pack sits between the 7Ah SLA and 16Ah Li-ion versions on both weight and runtime — a practical middle ground for anyone who wants the lighter carry of Li-ion without paying for the largest battery.
