The Gerber Concertina Cutter is a purpose-built, one-handed wire cutter designed to shear through heavy-duty wire, including barbed and concertina (razor) wire, without needing a second hand to brace the material. Compound-leverage jaws generate around 75 lbs of grip force, so a single squeeze is usually enough to get through thick strand wire that would defeat ordinary pliers or side-cutters. The handles are spring-loaded and cushion-gripped, reopening automatically after each cut and finished in a chemical-resistant coating that shrugs off fuel, oil and general field grime. Dual cutting edges allow the tool to bite on both the closing and opening stroke, speeding up repetitive cutting work. At roughly 8.5 inches overall and just over a pound in weight, it is compact enough to carry on a belt, webbing or pack, and it comes with a MOLLE-compatible Coyote sheath for quick, secure access. It is a specialist tool rather than an everyday cutter, best suited to anyone who regularly deals with fencing, wire obstacles or heavy gauge cable in the field.
