The Hornady Lock-N-Load 6mm GT Modified Case is a chambering-specific measuring tool designed for use with the Hornady Lock-N-Load OAL (Overall Length) Gauge, sold separately. It is a once-fired 6mm GT case that has been drilled and threaded at the base, allowing it to screw directly onto the OAL Gauge body. The handloader inserts a bullet of their choice into the open neck, then chambers the assembly in the rifle to measure the precise distance from the bolt face to the rifling lands — giving the cartridge overall length at which the bullet just touches the rifling. This datum lets the reloader establish optimum seating depth for the 6mm GT cartridge, a high-performance 6mm competition round. Manufactured to SAAMI specifications, the modified case fits standard 6mm GT rifle chambers. It is an inert, reusable measuring accessory — not a loaded round and not for firing. No firearms certificate is required.
