Sierra's Varminter is a .30 calibre (.308in) 135 grain jacketed hollow point bullet built for explosive expansion and clean kills on larger varmints and predators. The thin jacket is engineered for rapid terminal performance, which is why Sierra caps recommended velocities at under 3,200 fps to keep the bullet working as intended rather than coming apart too early. That velocity ceiling makes it a natural fit for 300 AAC Blackout and other reduced-recoil .30 calibre loads, where a lighter, fast-expanding projectile is exactly what varmint and predator control calls for. It has a flat base and a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.29, with a sectional density of 0.302. This is a reloading component only, supplied as 100 bare bullets per box for handloaders to seat over their own cases and powder charges - it is not loaded ammunition and cannot be fired as-is. Made in the USA to Sierra's usual manufacturing tolerances, it suits UK reloaders working up varmint or fox-control loads in .308 Winchester, 300 Blackout and similar .30 calibre cartridges.
