Zip Turtleneck Protection LITE is the thinnest base layer in Woolpower's certified Protection range, designed to be worn next to the skin under further certified layers. The higher collar gives extra protection in cold conditions and unzips a short way for quick ventilation when you're working hard. Lengthwise seams are set further back than usual for comfort, the sleeves use a raglan cut to stop rubbing under a rucksack strap, and the back is cut longer to stop gaps opening up when you reach or bend. The fabric itself is a circular-knitted 1:1 rib made from 19.5-micron merino wool combined with flame-resistant viscose, which conducts heat away from the body more readily than Woolpower's thicker Ullfrotté fabrics — making it a genuinely cooler option for high-activity or warmer conditions despite its high wool content. It's certified to EN ISO 11612:2015 (A1, B1, C1) for flame resistance, IEC 61482-2:2018 APC 1 for electric arc protection, and EN 1149-5:2018 for antistatic properties. Every garment is made by hand in Woolpower's own factory in Östersund, Sweden, from mulesing-free merino wool.
