The RCBS Shell Holder is the small machined steel part that grips a cartridge case while you resize, decap and prime it on the bench. It snaps into the ram of an RCBS press, and because RCBS uses a common slot design it will also fit most other makes of reloading press, as well as the RCBS hand priming tool. The holder catches the case by its rim or base, holding it square and secure so the case feeds straight into the die on every stroke and comes back out without marking the head. Shell holders are numbered to match the case head diameter rather than the calibre, so a single number covers a group of cartridges that share the same rim size. Choose the holder that matches the cartridge you are loading and you can move between sizing, depriming and priming jobs with a part that simply clicks in and out. A staple of any deer-stalking or target shooter's reloading setup, it is a hard-wearing component built to take the repeated pressure of full-length sizing.
