The Kahles Helia S42 8x42 is an Austrian-built all-round hunting binocular that concentrates on what actually matters in the field: a bright, high-contrast optical system, comfortable handling and genuine durability. The 8x magnification and 42 mm objectives give a 5.3 mm exit pupil and a twilight factor of 18.3, so the image holds up at dawn and dusk when deer are on the move, while the wide 136 m field of view at 1,000 m makes scanning woodland edges and tracking moving game noticeably easier. Generous 18.5 mm eye relief suits spectacle wearers, with dioptre compensation of +/-4 dpt and a close focus of just 3.2 m. The robust magnesium housing keeps the weight down to 815 g without sacrificing strength, and nitrogen filling makes the binocular waterproof and reliable from -25 °C to +55 °C, so a wet day on the hill is no concern.
