The Vortex Viper HD 8x42 is a compact, handheld-friendly binocular suited to woodland stalking and general fieldcraft, where a wide field of view and quick target acquisition count for more than long-range reach. HD extra-low dispersion glass and XR Plus fully multi-coated lenses work with dielectric-coated roof prisms to deliver bright, colour-accurate images with genuine edge-to-edge sharpness, and ArmorTek coating protects the exterior lenses from scratches and grime. Argon gas purging and O-ring seals keep the unit fully waterproof and fogproof, while the rubber-armoured chassis is built to withstand the usual knocks of a day in cover. At 24.5oz (695g) it's one of the lightest full-size binoculars in its class, helped by a true open hinge design that trims weight without compromising the build. The centre focus wheel and locking right-eye diopter give quick, repeatable focus, and twist-up eyecups suit use with or without glasses.
