Ariat Work & Country Boots

Ariat are best known here for two things: waterproof safety boots that people actually want to wear all day, and leather country boots that will take a yard and still look right at a shoot lunch. That is where the range sits.

      Work boots

The Groundbreaker and Treadfast families carry the steel toe and the waterproof membrane. Both come as a 6in lace boot and as a Chelsea. The lace patterns give you ankle support and let you set the fit over an instep; the Chelsea patterns pull on and off at a door, which is what most people want if they are in and out of a vehicle twenty times a day. Neither is a stalking boot — the sole is built for concrete and hard standing, not for a wet hill.

      Country and walking

The Moresby is the waterproof leather country boot, and the Skyline Mid H2O is the lighter walking pattern. Both are fine for dog walking, feed rounds and general estate work in reasonable going.

      Before you order

Ariat run on a roomy last, so a thick sock is worth allowing for rather than sizing up. If the job does not actually call for a protective toe, a plain country boot is lighter and more comfortable — check the requirement before paying for steel you do not need. A safety toe is also not repairable if the shell is crushed, so a damaged boot is a scrapped boot.

Odd Western and equestrian lines still appear here on held stock. They are genuine Ariat and perfectly good, but they are not part of the range going forward and sizes are whatever is left.
