The Bestard Alp FF is a semi-rigid, lightweight leather boot from Bestard's Fast Forward line, built for the fast-and-light end of mountaineering rather than a heavy multi-day pack. The upper pairs water-repellent Perwanger leather with an elastic Superfabric and hydrophobic Microtech panel and a rubber toe cap, and the Fast Forward Close-Fit System - an extended lacing run with an elasticated tongue and collar - pulls the boot in close to the foot for a precise, technical fit. A Gore-Tex Performance Comfort lining keeps things dry and breathable, and the TMS System at the ankle allows multidirectional flex, balancing support with freedom of movement while helping moisture escape from inside the boot. Underfoot, a semi-rigid Bestflex 6 midsole sits on a Vibram New Mulaz outsole with EVA and TPU, giving grip and precision on technical ground without the weight of a full mountaineering boot, and a climbing-zone tread at the toe adds extra purchase when scrambling. It takes semi-automatic and strap-on crampons, so it is ready for early snow or an icy stalk. Weight is 1,510g a pair (UK 8) - noticeably light for a boot with this level of support.
