The Bestard Cares has the weight and feel of a modern lightweight boot while keeping the traditional style and durability that a serious walker expects from a Spanish-made Bestard boot. The upper is 2.2mm Perwanger leather, lined with a GORE-TEX Performance Comfort membrane for full waterproofing and breathability in wet conditions. A two-density Vibram Andermatt outsole and Bestflex 3 midsole give a supportive, cushioned platform underfoot, while a heel strap and Quick-lock lacing make the boot quick to get on and secure once fitted. Built on Bestard's Europa H last and weighing around 1,314g a pair (UK 8) — noticeably lighter than Bestard's heavier trekking models — the Cares suits hill walking, woodland stalking and everyday use through a wet UK season as well as it does travel.
