These are Bisley 12-gauge short saluting blanks, supplied 25 to a bag, made specifically for the Bisley alarm mine and other 12-bore alarm guns. Each is a black-powder blank cartridge with no shot or projectile, so it produces a sharp, loud report rather than firing anything down range. Loaded into an alarm mine on a gate, path or boundary, the blank goes off when a trip-wire or the device is disturbed, giving you an unmistakable bang that flags an intruder or stray animal and works well as a bird scarer over crops and release pens. The short case is the point of the design: the Bisley alarm mine is built to take these shorter blanks so it will not chamber a standard live cartridge, which keeps the unit sensible to leave set in the field.
