Bisley brass snap caps let you safely release the spring tension on your shotgun's firing pins for dry-firing practice and long-term storage. Machined from solid brass with a brass striking face and a sprung centre, each cap cushions the firing pin as it falls, so the pin rebounds much as it would against a live cartridge rather than slamming into an empty chamber. That protects the pins and action against the wear and breakage that bare dry-firing can cause, and it eases the standing load on leaf or coil springs when a gun is laid up between outings. The internal spring tension is adjustable with an Allen key, so the caps can be tightened up and kept in service far longer than the cheaper plastic type. Supplied as a pair, ready to drop into both barrels of a side-by-side or over-and-under. Available across the common shotgun bores, so you can match them to your gun: 12g, 16g, 20g, 28g and .410. A sensible bit of kit for any cabinet, useful for trigger and gun-fit practice at home as well as protecting the gun in storage.
