Bisley Phosphor Bronze Brush for Shotgun
S3360
The Bisley Phosphor Bronze Brush is a bore-cleaning brush for shotguns, used to scrub powder and plastic-wad fouling out of the barrels as part of routine cleaning. The bristles are phosphor bronze, which is firm enough to lift baked-on residue from the bore yet soft enough not to score the steel or harm the finish, so it works through a fouled barrel without leaving its own marks. The brush is threaded to fit Bisley rods and most British cleaning rods, so it screws straight onto a standard shotgun rod or pull-through and swaps out with jags, mops and loops as you work. In use you run the brush down the bore on a few passes to break up the fouling, then follow with a patch or wool mop to clear it out, finishing with a light oil. Phosphor bronze brushes wear with use and are treated as a replaceable consumable, so it is worth keeping a spare in the cleaning kit. A straightforward, hard-working part of any shotgun maintenance routine.
