Bisley Plastic Snap Caps are inert dummy rounds that let you safely cock and release the action without live ammunition. Cocking and dropping the hammers on an empty chamber drives the firing pins against nothing, and over time that hammering damages the strikers; a snap cap gives the pin a sprung primer seat to land on, cushioning the blow and protecting the action. Chamber a pair as you would a cartridge, then dry-fire to test the trigger and ejectors, ease the springs before the gun goes into the cabinet, or simply check that the mechanism is cycling as it should. The plastic body is light, hard-wearing and easy to see at a glance, and Bisley caps are well regarded for the strength of their rims. Sold in pairs, they cover the common shotgun gauges as well as popular rifle calibres, so you can match them to whatever you shoot, from a side-by-side game gun to a stalking rifle.
