Dog & Field's Original Clone Snipe Dummy Ball takes the brand's ball-format training dummy and prints it with a high-definition photographic reproduction of snipe plumage - one of the smallest and trickiest birds a working dog will be asked to find. Snipe are typically walked-up over wet ground, bog and marginal marshland, where a small, well-marked retrieve article helps a dog get used to picking out a modest target from cover rather than a bulky one. The ball shape adds a further layer of realism over a standard canvas dummy: instead of sitting still where it lands, it rolls and bounces off-line, so a dog has to work to relocate it, which builds the close hunting and marking skills needed on testing wet ground. Scaled down to reflect the size of the real bird, it is easy for a dog to pick up and carry, and works equally well as an early introduction for a puppy or as a variation in an experienced dog's retrieving routine.
