The H&N Slug HP is a hollow-point airgun slug built for high-power PCP air rifles, holding its accuracy well beyond 50 metres where conventional diabolo pellets start to fade. The bullet-shaped profile gives a ballistic coefficient of 0.094, far higher than a standard pellet, so it flies flatter and keeps more of its energy downrange, which is exactly what you want for rabbits, corvids and longer-range pest control. This version is the 23 grain slug in .217 (5.51 mm) diameter for .22 calibre barrels, one of two head sizes H&N offers so you can match the slug to your bore. Each slug is coated with a special lubricant to cut barrel friction, and every one is visually inspected and hand packed, with foam pads protecting the tin in transit. H&N quotes a minimum muzzle energy of 25 joules and recommends 40 to 60 joules for best results, so these suit FAC-rated rifles rather than sub-12 ft·lb guns, and barrels with a faster, slug-specific twist rate will group noticeably tighter. Supplied in the standard H&N screw-top tin of 200.
