These Hornady V-MAX projectiles are component reloading bullets for the handloader, not loaded ammunition. Each measures .277" in diameter, suiting .270 calibre and 6.8mm cartridges, and weighs 110 grains in a boat-tail profile with a cannelure crimp groove for secure case-neck crimping. The sharp polymer tip sits over a hollow cavity that drives back into the swaged lead core on impact, giving the rapid expansion and explosive fragmentation that make the V-MAX a favourite varmint and fox bullet. A concentric AMP jacket supports consistent accuracy, while the streamlined form and 0.370 ballistic coefficient help maintain flat trajectories downrange; expansion is reliable even at velocities as low as 1600 fps. The cannelure makes this bullet a sound choice for loads destined for tube magazines or hard-recoiling rifles where the bullet must be held firmly in place. Sectional density is 0.205. Supplied as bare bullets only, with no powder, primers or cases included. Reloading components are sold to customers who hold the appropriate certification and load to published data.
