The Leofoto BV-5B is a compact fluid head made for optics: spotting scopes, tripod-mounted binoculars and thermal spotters. The fluid damping gives smooth panning and tilting when you are glassing a hillside, and the short pan handle keeps the head tidy in a pack or on a lightweight tripod.
It is rated to 4kg, weighs 528g and stands 88mm tall. An Arca-type quick release plate with a 1/4in screw carries the optic, and the flat base has a 3/8in female thread to fit most tripods. Pan and tilt have independent locks, the head tilts from +90 to -75 degrees, and a built-in bubble level helps you set up square.
