NocPix build thermal imaging in three families, and the naming tells you what a unit is for before you read the spec.

Bolt are the riflescopes — the H50R and P25R sit on the rifle and are zeroed to it. Lumi are handheld monoculars for scanning: the H35R and L35 for general ground work, the compact P13 for carrying in a pocket. Quest are the binoculars — L35R and H50R — which are easier on the eyes over a long night than a monocular because you are not squinting through one eye for hours.

The R suffix means a built-in laser rangefinder. Worth having if you are shooting foxes at unknown distances across open ground, less so if you are working a known field with marked landmarks. It adds weight and cost.

Scan with a handheld, shoot with the scope. Sweeping ground with a rifle-mounted thermal means pointing a rifle at everything you look at. A Lumi or Quest for finding, a Bolt for identifying and taking the shot, is the way most people who do this a lot end up working.

An IR kit for the NITE (940nm) is also held here.
