The Nordik Fox Heat is a mouth-blown predator call made in Sweden and purpose-built for drawing in fox during the mating period. During the rut, foxes are actively seeking a mate and respond readily to the soft contact and courtship whistles that this call reproduces. It is equally effective year-round against territorial foxes defending their ground. Two distinct sound sequences are used: the first is a soft, pulsed trrr-trrr-trrr repeated in series with ten-second pauses; the second is a close succession of short thrusts of air finishing with a slow, fading three-second note that mimics the classic fox contact call. Each sequence is repeated every five to ten minutes across a thirty-to-forty minute stand. Some foxes answer back and come in fast; others approach completely silent, so stay sharp. Compact and straightforward to use, the Fox Heat suits foot stalkers and rifle hunters equally and slips easily into any jacket pocket.
