The Nordik Mouse is a mouth-blown predator call from Swedish call-maker Nordikpredator, reproducing the distress squeak of a mouse or vole to draw fox and other predators that hunt small rodents. It works on a gentle inhale and exhale, so no force or embouchure skill is needed, and if debris gets into the call it simply pulls apart for cleaning. Its shape lets you use it hands-free, keeping both hands on the gun and ready for the shot the moment a predator appears. Mouse squeak works throughout the season but is particularly effective on young fox that haven't yet learned to associate distress calls with danger, so it often draws them in more readily than a hare or bird distress call. The recommended technique is short, irregular squeaks for 20-30 seconds, then quiet for 1-2 minutes, repeated for 30-40 minutes before moving to a new stand; it also works well as an opener or closer alongside hare or bird distress calling.
