The Nordik Sika is a mouth-blown game call from Swedish maker Nordik Predator, designed specifically to imitate the vocalisation of a sika stag in rut. To call sika stags during the rut, expand the lower section of the call, place the mouthpiece to your lips and blow softly, growl, then soft again. Gradually increase pressure to produce a high-pitched whistle, then ease back to short, soft blows with a gentle growl — repeating the sequence three times before pausing to read the deer's response. Cupping and opening your hand in front of the call adds realism and helps project a more natural sound. The Sika also doubles as a red deer calf distress call, producing a sound that agitates hinds and draws them in close. For hind calling, place the mouthpiece between the lips and exhale in short and longer bursts of 15–20 seconds, resting two to three minutes between sequences and continuing for up to 20 minutes per stand.
