The Old Timer Lil' Finger 156OT is a compact fixed-blade knife built on the pattern Old Timer has made since 1965, scaled down for close work rather than heavy chopping. The 2.5in drop point blade is stainless steel and runs full tang through the handle, so there is no join to work loose when you are levering through a joint or caping around bone. A nickel silver guard separates blade from grip and gives a positive stop for the index finger, and the saw cut handle scales hold their grip when wet. It is a knife for the deer larder, the rabbit bag and the beating line rather than the bushcraft camp, and the short blade is easier to control in the hand than a full-size hunter when you are working carefully. Supplied in a stitched brown leather belt sheath with a press stud retaining strap, so it rides on the belt and comes out cleanly. A sensible working knife at a sensible price, and one that will still be sharp in twenty years if you look after it.
