The Pulsar Challenger GS 3.5x50 is an analogue night-vision monocular built around a CF-Super (Gen I) image intensifier tube that delivers 39 lp/mm resolution and edge-to-edge sharpness across its 11° field of view. R-contact optics and a five-lens eyepiece work together to minimise edge distortion and improve contrast, while a ±4 diopter adjustment lets you dial in a crisp image without a separate adaptor. At 3.5x magnification the unit strikes a practical balance between reach and situational awareness — useful for scanning hedgerows, checking a field boundary or confirming quarry species at moderate range in darkness. The built-in IR illuminator is activated sequentially by a single switch, so it cannot fire accidentally before the intensifier is live. Two diametrically opposed ¼" tripod sockets allow the monocular to be used handheld, mounted in front of either eye on an optional head mount, or fixed to a tripod — and the second socket will accept an optional long-range IR illuminator when the built-in unit is insufficient. The glass-reinforced plastic body carries an IP46 dust and water-resistance rating, and the unit operates from -20 to +40°C. Power comes from a single CR123A battery. Supplied with a soft carry case.
