The Sitka CORE Lightweight Bottom in GORE OPTIFADE Open Country is a next-to-skin base layer built for the CORE Lightweight system, the layering foundation for spot-and-stalk hunts on open, arid ground. Cut from a quick-dry, 100% polyester Comfort Stretch Knit, it moves moisture away from the skin and dries fast as temperatures swing through the day. A gusseted no-bunch crotch and low-profile elastic waistband keep the fit close and comfortable under stalking trousers or heavier insulating layers, without bulk or chafing. Permanent Polygiene Odor Control technology is bonded into the fabric to stop the growth of odour-causing bacteria and fungi, helping keep scent down on long days in the field. The Open Country pattern breaks up the leg's outline for hunters working exposed terrain, where a plains or mountain-west camouflage scheme suits the ground better than a woodland or subalpine pattern. Lightweight enough for warm-weather use on its own, it also layers cleanly beneath mid and outer layers as conditions cool, making it a year-round foundation piece for stalking and hill work.
