These Tipton nylon bore brushes are sized specifically for .338 and 8mm rifle barrels, so the bristles fill the bore evenly for thorough, efficient cleaning. The nylon bristles are gentle on the barrel and will not scratch the bore or wear at the rifling, which makes them a sensible choice for routine maintenance and for working solvent through the bore between range trips or after a day's stalking. Unlike bronze, nylon is unaffected by modern bore solvents, including the ammonia-based copper removers that quickly degrade a bronze brush, so the brushes last longer when used with aggressive cleaners. Each brush is built on a single looped wire core with a crimped coupler, keeping the wire away from the bore wall as you pass it through. The 8/32 thread fits most popular cleaning rods, and the three-pack means you have spares on hand as the bristles soften with use.
