The Tipton Ultra Jag in .270/7mm calibre is a nickel-plated brass cleaning jag built to solve a genuine headache for stalkers and range shooters alike: false blue readings on a cleaning patch. Standard brass jags react with modern bore solvents and turn the patch blue even when the barrel is already free of copper fouling, leaving you cleaning for far longer than necessary. Tipton's patent-pending solvent-proof coating stops that reaction at the jag itself, so any blue you do see on the patch is genuine copper fouling from the bore rather than solvent attacking the jag. The jag is sized to .270/7mm calibre bores and fitted with an 8/32 thread to suit a standard cleaning rod. Slotted grooves hold the patch firmly in place and retain solvent against the bore face for a more thorough pass, while a pointed tip makes it easy to start the patch into the bore.
