The Tom's Targets Muntjac is a life-size steel silhouette of Britain's smallest widespread deer species, which makes it the smallest target in Tom's Targets' deer range. At approximately 650mm x 600mm with a single 100mm reactive kill zone over the vital area, it demands the same precise shot placement a muntjac calls for in the field – there's little margin for a poorly judged aim point on a body this size. It's laser cut from 10mm Hardox 500 abrasion-resistant steel with a nominal 500 HBW Brinell hardness, the figure that stops the round piercing the plate rather than the plate simply absorbing the hit, giving a crisp, durable edge that stands up to repeated centrefire hits. Muntjac have spread rapidly across southern and central England and Wales and are commonly shot at close range in cover, so this target is a useful way to sharpen quick, accurate shot placement on a genuinely small-bodied deer. Tom's Targets supply it in their natural, paintable mill finish with 10mm mounting holes for their own Poles and Chains or Pro Stand systems, rated for all firearms except .50 calibre and above. As with any steel target, wear eye protection, never use armour-piercing or steel-core ammunition, and shoot from a safe minimum distance for your calibre.
