The Trap Man Fox Cage Trap is a UK-made, humane live-catch trap designed for catching foxes without harm. Constructed from 25mm x 25mm x 2.5mm galvanised welded wire, it is robust enough for repeated use in all weathers. The trap measures 48 inches long by 18 inches wide by 19 inches high — a full-length design that avoids the reduced effective length common with competitor traps using inward-closing roof-hinged doors. A pull-bait mechanism releases a free-fall wire mesh door; a wire treadle plate is also included at no extra cost. The trap arrives flat-packed and folds out like a cardboard box; end panels are secured with metal clips (pliers required) in around ten minutes. To use effectively, bait the area at the same time each day before setting, so foxes become accustomed to the feeding routine, then place a small amount of bait leading into the entrance with more bait inside near the sides. One clear advantage of cage trapping is that non-target animals — including pet cats and dogs — can be inspected and released unharmed. UK law requires checking the trap at least once daily, ideally at dusk and dawn.
