The Vortex Crossfire HD 3-9x40 is a general-purpose deer stalking and hunting riflescope, built around the wider magnification range and larger 40mm objective that most stalkers reach for as a first serious scope. Its HD optical system uses selected glass elements to sharpen resolution and reduce colour fringing, and fully multi-coated lenses lift light transmission for a clear sight picture into last light. The Dead-Hold BDC (MOA) reticle carries a set of calibrated hashmarks below the centre crosshair, giving a visual holdover reference for range and windage rather than guesswork — useful once you know your rifle's drop at typical stalking distances. 3-9x magnification and a 40mm objective give a practical zoom range from close cover to open ground, with capped 1/4 MOA turrets, 15 MOA of travel per rotation and 72 MOA of total elevation and windage adjustment, parallax-set at 100 yards for standard rifle use.
