The Vortex Precision QR Cantilever Mount is a quick-release scope mount built specifically for mounting 30mm-tube riflescopes onto a flattop AR-15. Its 2" forward cantilever offset moves the scope ahead of the receiver, giving the correct eye relief and head placement for a natural cheek weld on an AR-platform rifle. The mount is precision CNC machined from a single block of 6061 T6 aircraft-grade aluminium and finished in hard-coat Type III mil-spec black anodising for a durable, corrosion-resistant surface that will not chip or wear through with regular use. It clamps onto standard Picatinny/Weaver rails via a quick-release lever, so the scope and mount can be removed and reattached repeatably without tools. The ring screws take a 9/64" hex bit and torque to 18 in/lbs, and the mount holds the scope's optical axis at a centre height of 1.45" (37mm) above the rail. At 8.9oz it adds minimal weight to the rifle. A solid, purpose-built option for anyone running a 30mm scope on a flattop AR-15 who needs the forward offset for proper eye relief.
