A 65mm objective built from high-density, extra-low dispersion glass in a triplet apochromatic configuration delivers bright, distortion-free images with genuine edge-to-edge sharpness across the full 22-48x zoom range, helped by XRPlus fully multi-coated lenses and dielectric-coated Porro prisms for accurate colour and contrast. The straight eyepiece keeps the line of sight in with the optical tube, which makes it quicker to find and track a moving target than an angled body, and a twist-up eyecup with a helical focus collar keep it easy to use even in gloves. The magnesium alloy chassis is rubber armoured, argon-purged and O-ring sealed against water, fog and dust, with ArmorTek coating protecting the exterior lenses from scratches and grime. A rotating tripod collar and 1/4"-20 mount let it sit on almost any support, and it takes an Arca-Swiss tripod head directly with no extra plate needed.
