The Vortex Venom 1-6x24 SFP is a fast, entry-level low-power variable optic built for close and moving-quarry work, from driven boar to woodland stalking. True 1x-6x magnification means it can be run wide open like a reflex sight, with both eyes open for rapid target acquisition, then dialled up to 6x for a more precise shot as range opens out. Because the AR-BDC3 reticle sits in the second focal plane, it stays a constant size in the sight picture throughout the zoom range rather than growing and shrinking with magnification. The reticle is illuminated and glass-etched, with a 1 MOA centre dot for a precise aiming point surrounded by a 16.625 MOA broken circle that pulls the eye onto target fast; it is ballistically tuned to common 5.56 loads fired from an AR-15, holding point of aim out to 650 yards. The 30mm tube runs capped turrets adjusting in 1/4 MOA clicks, with 140 MOA of both windage and elevation travel, and a fixed 100-yard parallax setting. A removable throw lever speeds up magnification changes, and the scope comes complete with a sunshade, lens covers, lens cloth, CR2032 battery and 2mm hex wrench.
