Barnes LRX (Long-Range X) bullets are a monolithic, all-copper hunting bullet built specifically for long-range work, supplied 50 to a box for handloaders. Unlike the shorter, flat-based TSX, the LRX carries a sleek boat-tail base and a polymer tip over a solid copper body, giving it a higher ballistic coefficient that retains velocity and resists wind drift better at extended range. On impact the polymer tip initiates rapid, reliable expansion into sharp copper petals even at the lower impact velocities typical of long shots, while the solid copper shank — cut with Barnes' pressure-reducing grooved rings — stays intact for near-100% weight retention and deep penetration. Being lead-free, the LRX is a straightforward choice where lead projectiles are restricted. This 6mm (.243in) 95-grain loading suits the popular 6mm/.243 hunting cartridges, giving a controlled-expansion, long-range option for deer and similar-sized game.
