Hornady's Superformance Varmint is a loaded .243 Winchester centre-fire cartridge built around the 75-grain V-Max bullet, supplied in a box of 20. The line's proprietary propellants lift muzzle velocity by roughly 100 to 200 feet per second over conventional loads without raising chamber pressure, so you gain flatter trajectory and range with no extra felt recoil, and it runs safely through every action type including semi-autos. From a 24-inch test barrel this load leaves the muzzle at 3,580 fps with 2,134 ft/lb of energy and a ballistic coefficient of 0.330, which keeps wind drift down and groups tight at distance. The polymer-tipped V-Max bullet drives match-grade accuracy and rapid, dramatic expansion, making it a sound choice for foxing and other varmint and pest control where a fast, frangible bullet is wanted. The brass case is boxer-primed, non-corrosive and reloadable.
