- 8" x 2" x 3/4" bench stone, large enough to handle blades of any size, not just pocket knives
- Suits pocket knives, hunting and fishing knives, kitchen knives and general cutting tools
- Weighs 15.8oz, giving it enough heft to stay put on a bench or workbench while sharpening
- Assembled in the USA
Smith's 8" DualGrit Combination Sharpening Stone puts two grits on one bench stone, so you can go from restoring a dull or damaged edge to putting on a fine finish without swapping stones. It's made from aluminium oxide, a synthetic abrasive used the same way as a diamond or natural bench stone. One face carries an extra-coarse 100-grit surface for aggressive metal removal — the side to reach for on a blade that's genuinely blunted or chipped and needs real work. The other face is a milder 240 grit, suited to a quick touch-up on a blade that's only a little off, or for smoothing the edge after working it on the coarse side. At 8 inches long by 2 inches wide and 3/4 inch thick it's a proper bench stone rather than a pocket tool, large enough to handle any size of blade from a small pocket knife upwards. It suits pocket knives, hunting and fishing knives, kitchen knives and general cutting tools alike, and at 15.8oz it has enough heft to sit solidly on a bench or workbench rather than skating around while you work.
