Made from rugged high carbon steel with a black protective coating, it folds down to convert between a traditional shovel, a hoe and a pick, so one tool covers digging a fire pit, clearing ground for a tent, or breaking up hard or stony soil. Fully extended it runs 18.1in end to end and weighs in at under 2lb, light enough to strap to a pack without noticing it. When it's not in use, the shovel folds away into its own heavy-duty carry case, which has a carry handle plus two accessory pockets sized for a sharpener, a knife or other small camp tools, keeping everything together in one grab-and-go bundle.
