The tube measures 451mm long by 28mm high and 28mm deep, is made from glass, finished in white, and weighs 40g. It emits the UV wavelength that draws flies, moths and other flying insects onto the unit's sticky glue board, and fits with a simple twist-and-lock action, so no electrician or special tools are needed to swap it. LED tubes of this type are typically rated for around 10,000 hours of use and run more efficiently than the older fluorescent tubes they replace, though the UV coating that does the attracting fades with use - most manufacturers recommend fitting a new tube annually, even if the old one still lights, to keep the unit working at full effectiveness.
