The Hornady 22 Cal .224 55gr V-MAX is a polymer-tipped varmint bullet supplied as a reloading component for handloaders, not a loaded cartridge, so a firearms certificate and your own brass, primers and powder are needed to make up rounds. With a measured bullet diameter of .224 inches, it suits popular centre-fire varmint cartridges such as the .222 Remington, .223 Remington and .22-250, making it a sensible choice for fox control and other vermin shooting where rapid energy transfer matters. The sharp polymer tip sits over a hollow cavity that drives back into the swaged lead core on impact, producing fast, dramatic expansion and fragmentation even at lower velocities. The match-grade AMP jacket is formed for concentricity, which helps the bullet shoot accurately across a range of distances. A flat-base profile and a streamlined ogive give steady in-flight stability and a flat trajectory. Each box holds 100 bullets, letting you load consistent batches for load development and a season of fox and vermin work.
