Birchwood Casey Coated Cleaning Rod 33in .17 to .20 Calibre
S32247
A clean barrel shoots straighter, and small bores foul quickly. This Birchwood Casey one-piece coated cleaning rod is sized for .17 to .20 calibre bores (4.5-5.20mm), so it covers .17 rimfires and .177 and .20 airgun barrels alike. The 33-inch (84cm) shaft is long enough to clear a full-length rifle barrel in a single pass, and because it is a single piece there are no joints to flex, snag a patch or score the rifling. The synthetic coating over the steel core is what earns it a place in a small-bore cleaning kit: if the shaft touches the lands, the coating bears the contact rather than bare metal, helping preserve the crown and rifling that accuracy depends on. A free-floating handle lets the rod rotate and follow the rifling as you push a brush or patch through, rather than dragging against the twist. The rod comes packaged in a reusable clear tube that doubles as clean storage in the gun cabinet between sessions. Manufacturer model 41403.
