The H&N Slug HP is a hollow-point airgun slug designed for high-powered PCP air rifles pushing beyond conventional pellet territory. Machined to a head diameter of .217 (5.51mm) in .22 calibre and weighing 27 grains, these slugs deliver a favourable ballistic coefficient that flattens trajectory and retains energy well past 50 metres — noticeably more than a standard domed pellet at the same power level. The hollow-point nose transfers energy effectively on impact, making them a practical choice for pest control at distance as well as precision target work. A special lubricant coating reduces barrel friction and contributes to consistent shot-to-shot performance. H&N recommend a minimum muzzle energy of 25 joules, with the best results coming from rifles producing 40–60 joules; barrels with a shorter twist rate cut specifically for slugs will extract the most from this projectile.
